Just like the contestants, the judges also consider this platform as a learning curve for them. In a candid chat with ETimes-TV, singer and judge Sithara Krishnakumar aka Sithumani spoke about her 'Super 4' stint.
"I think it is the first time that such a young group is being seen as judges in a Malayalam reality show. It is the commonalities between us that makes the panel lively. Our age, our entry into the field, experiences... everything is similar. So, it is a whole different vibe. We don't realise how fast a schedule ends because of the fun we have while shooting. The set has that lively vibe of our school and college days," the singer said.
Sithara is marvelled by the talent as well as the positivity of the contestants who are participating in the show. The former reality show winner shared that she has learned a lot from them.
"I am impressed with the positivity in them. When we were participating in reality shows, we had inhibitions about talking to judges or seniors. But, these kids never have such thoughts, which is great. They will be able to give their best when they are comfortable as a team. I have learned much about being positive only from them," she added.
The singer also shared that she doesn't feel like being a 'judge' on the show. "We are not sitting to 'judge' them. So there are no scripted preparations on what to say during the interaction. We share our experience with them, which will help them more in their future. They very well know their best and flaws, we just give them more perspectives or suggestions," Sithara shared.
However, the singer said that it is sad to face the elimination as the contestants are close to them on a personal level, too. But, she added that the contestants clearly know that an eviction is never the end.
"Obviously, it is sad when one of the contestants leaves the show, but the kids very well know to take it in a mature way, They know that this show is never the end of anything. Winning the show is not the thing, a reality show is an opportunity where you get to introspect yourself and improve your talent by regular practice. Today, playback singing alone is not their future, independent music has huge potential. One of the eliminated contestants of the show will be soon singing for my band," the judge said.
Sithara is also overwhelmed by the response she is getting for the show. She is excited to be the 'Sithumani' of the telly audience.
"The show started when we all were under the pressure of the lockdown. Initially, it was a great getaway. Now, the show and audience have become a part of life. Everyone started calling me 'Sithumani', it feels good," she concluded.
