Sithara shares tips to clean your flood-ravaged home

People in Kerala have started returning to their houses after overcoming the flood havoc. It is a mammoth task to clean the house which has become filthy with mud and water. There are several things that one must take into consideration while cleaning houses. Singer Sithara Krishnakumar and her husband Dr Sajeesh have shared a video which will be useful in this situation.

Sithara’s home in Kochi was also flooded. The video shared on Facebook points out the things that must be taken care of while cleaning house.

“There are certain items that we must carry while going to the house. Everyone should wear gumboot and glouses. I felt that they were necessary when I entered my home. You should also wear a mask. Disposable masks are not preferred as the mask has to be used for a long time.

Kerosene has to filled in a bottle for spraying. You can spray it if you find reptiles. Wells should be super chlorinated before use. I feel that it should be done for one month. Open the windows while cleaning. Turn off the main switch. Don’t turn on electric equipment. Seek the help of an electrician for using them", says Sithara.
